Created by over 50 students and 2 professors at HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd design university, along with external contributors, Openmoji provides a comprehensive icon library of thousands of professionally designed emojis available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license. The project addresses the limited creative variety in existing emoji sets by offering an independent, visually cohesive alternative to proprietary emoji systems from major tech companies.
